Position Summary
The Peer Supervisor provides leadership, mentorship, and non-clinical supervision to Peer Advocates within Delphi Rise’s Open Access Clinic. Working under the direct supervision of a Qualified Health Professional (QHP), the Peer Supervisor supports peers in their professional development, ensures alignment with the peer scope of practice, and coordinates peer service delivery to clients. While this position does not involve clinical oversight or treatment planning, it plays a vital role in modeling recovery principles, strengthening peer services, and fostering a consistent and effective recovery-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Mentorship & Peer Development
- Serve as a mentor and role model, demonstrating recovery-oriented practices.
- Provide individualized guidance to Peer Advocates, supporting both professional growth and peer role fidelity.
- Identify training needs and coordinate peer-led trainings in collaboration with the Clinic Manager.
- Co-facilitate monthly peer team meetings focused on skill-building, boundaries, trauma-informed approaches, and problem-solving.
- Promote healthy work-life balance and monitor well-being to help prevent burnout.
- Deliver ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to strengthen peer service delivery.
Program Coordination & Support
- Orient new Peer Advocates to agency policies, clinic procedures, and recovery support roles.
- Serve as a resource for peers seeking support with job-related questions, while referring all clinical matters to the Clinic Manager.
- Collaborate with the Clinic Manager and clinical team to define non-clinical peer engagement opportunities.
- Assist with the development and upkeep of peer-related resources, client materials, and documentation tools.
- Support planning and participation in agency outreach, community events, and client engagement activities.
- Attend Peer Learning Collaborative sessions and share insights with the Delphi peer team.
Service Delivery (Non-Clinical)
- Provide non-clinical peer support to clients accessing the Open Access Clinic, including intake assistance and referral navigation.
- Educate clients on recovery resources, strengths-based approaches, and available community services.
- Facilitate peer-led groups focused on recovery, coping, and empowerment.
- Assist clients with service navigation and follow-up support, staying within peer scope of practice.
- Participate in outreach to promote services and foster community partnerships.
Administrative & Supervisory Duties
- Provide non-clinical supervision to assigned Peer Advocates, ensuring adherence to scope of practice.
- Assist the Clinic Manager with daily operational needs, as assigned.
- Develop agendas and training topics for monthly peer meetings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of peer activities, trainings, and performance notes.
- Track and support timely completion of peer documentation, intake packets, and resource updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with peer scope.
Qualifications
- Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (CRPA or CRPA-P) required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders required.
- Minimum 2 years of peer support or recovery services experience.
- Leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centered, and trauma-informed care.
- Understanding of peer scope of practice in an OASAS-regulated setting.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
This position requires the regular use of a computer/iPad, printer, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, scanner.
Computer Software: Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, Excel.
Mental and Visual Demand:
Moderate mental and visual attention to perform light administrative work, data entry and/or reading. Requires some judgment in the analysis of facts or conditions regarding individual problems or transactions to determine what action should be taken, within the specifications of standard practice.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to travel locally
- Work performed in office and at community outreach events
