Service Systems Specialist
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. Employees at this designation perform routine technical duties in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of components within building automation systems, sensors, and related controls and computers. This position works under the direct supervision of a higher-level building automation technician and with minimal supersivion. This position has multiple openings for all levels from entry to senior level. These roles require travel between Manhattan and Long Island NY.
Essential Functions: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Assists in the troubleshooting and repairs of building-automation-system field cabinets, including communication devices, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, transducers and actuators.
- Assists in performing preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assists in developing system backups.
- Assists in working on computers, monitors and network devices as assigned.
- Performing scheduled and emergency calls as assigned.
- Perform all above and other tasks following Company and customer safety standards
- Complete all training opportunities provided.
- Reports to work on time and ready to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintains company tools, test equipment and material.
- Maintain and track inventory on vehicle as assigned. Deliver material as required.
- Looks for opportunities to keep the project / assignment moving forward or additional business.
- Complete work order documentation and other site documentation as required.
- Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
- Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
- Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
- Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of relevant work experience in the field or related area that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computers & Networking)
- Self-starter attitude that is inquisitive, intuitive and has a willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to document daily tasks, plan and prepare for tasks assigned.
- Commitment to our “open door” policy and regular contact with field employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
- High ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental
Pay rate $28/hr-$52/hr DOE.
