Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: January 17, 2026
• Duration: 18 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights), every other weekend, holidays/on-call/callback/charge per unit needs
• Setting: Strictly float across multiple acute care units (trauma, neurology, orthopedics, transplant, and more)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2200 - $2260

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NY RN license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care hospital
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Prior float travel nursing experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma nursing experience
• Ability to commit to the full 18-week travel assignment

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to diverse patient populations across multiple acute care units
• Float between trauma, neurology, orthopedics, solid organ transplant, and additional units as needed
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Assume expanded roles as needed, including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities
• Demonstrate service excellence, clinical leadership, and commitment to ongoing professional development
