Job Overview

The Assistant Finance Manager supports Financial Managers in serving as a strategic liaison between financial reporting, property management, and external clients. This role is instrumental in strengthening client relationships, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring effective communication across internal departments.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Managers in building and maintaining strong relationships with treasurers and boards, providing ongoing decision support to help ensure sound financial operations.
• Respond to client inquiries and provide clear, helpful guidance on matters related to financial management.
• Participate in client meetings as needed.
• Assist in onboarding new properties, ensuring accurate and efficient setup.
• Prepare Form 1098 filings with high attention to detail to ensure accurate mortgage interest reporting.
• Collaborate with Financial Managers to enhance communication between Client Accounting, Property Managers, and clients.
• Review and present monthly financial statements.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned.
• Assist Team Leaders throughout the budgeting process.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in a business partner or client‐facing role preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality client service and maintaining strong client satisfaction.
• Strong understanding of assets, cash balances, project funding availability, and cash flow requirements for capital improvements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, address issues constructively, and contribute positively to team dynamics.
• High energy, strong multitasking skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Yardi, MDS, or similar property management accounting software preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and other data management tools.

Compensation

Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 annually.
