Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer and/or Professional Engineer (PE) to lead design-build projects of all sizes. Essential Responsibilities:

• Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to design and develop systems for industrial refrigeration applications.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations, prepare project specifications, and produce bid, fabrication, construction, and as-built documentation.
• Collaborate with vendors to select and size equipment that meets project specifications and performance requirements.
• Define project goals, specifications, and deliverables with customer teams, managing project schedules to ensure timely completion within budget while resolving design or scheduling challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, facilities engineers, field supervisors, and shop foremen.
• Drive company objectives, including productivity, safety, quality, and innovation.
• Mentor and develop team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience, preferably in design-build projects.
• New York Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar.
• Ability to work in diverse environments, including customer sites, with occasional travel across the Northeast. Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical system design, including piping, HVAC, or process systems, and familiarity with construction trades, methods, standards, codes, and equipment.
• Knowledge of heat transfer design is a plus.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with colleagues, clients, and vendors at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
