Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Hospital – Interventional Radiology (Neuro focus)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Radiology Contract)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: January 31, 2026
• Duration: 18 weeks
• Schedule: 5x8 hour shifts per week (option for 4x10 hour shifts)
• Call: 2-3 call shifts per month, plus at least 1 holiday assignment
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,120–$3,200 per week
• On-Site Position

Radiology Technologist Qualifications

• Active Radiologic Technologist license in New York State
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Clinical experience in neurosurgery or neuroscience required
• Interventional radiology experience strongly preferred
• Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities in Interventional Radiology

• Produce high-quality diagnostic radiologic images using appropriate exposure factors and patient positioning
• Administer oral contrast as required for exams
• Prepare and instruct patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures; assist radiologists during interventional procedures
• Operate all x-ray, CR, and DR equipment proficiently
• Report equipment malfunctions and support department operations, including clerical tasks, stocking, and patient transport
• Maintain medication security and demonstrate competency in patient care for all age groups
• Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS for documentation and workflow management
• Participate in hospital performance improvement and quality assurance activities
• Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff
• Respond professionally to technical inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel
