Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

The Sales Development Manager is responsible for lead generation, nurturing, qualification, and origination of qualified opportunities in the CNBC Event sales pipeline. You will work closely with the Event Sales Directors to lead incremental, net new pipeline for us against a set of targeted prospects in the territories we serve. You will also help qualify inbound leads. You will be well versed on the capabilities they represent and able to identify cross-sell opportunities within other capabilities within the company. The ideal candidate will balance a dynamic personality with a desire/diligence to reach decision-makers.

  • Work with sponsorship sales directors to create prospect pipelines — develop targeted prospect lists of potential sponsors for each event, finding appropriate contacts for each company.
  • Initiate outreach to target companies to set up introductory meetings/calls for sponsorship sales team.
  • Track prospects through the sales process and provide regular pipeline updates to accurately capture all sales activity.
  • Account-map across key clients.
  • Lead inbound sales inquiries to qualify likelihood of lead and align with CNBC opportunities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by promptly responding to requests and ensuring availability for follow-up questions.
  • Listen actively to advertisers' needs and generate innovative ideas to enhance and optimize CNBC's offerings, feeding insights to the sales team.
  • Help with contract and billing processes.
  • Demonstrate and grow knowledge of the TV and digital advertising industry.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • 3-5 years of business development and/or consultative sales experience in advertising and/or event sales
  • Experience supporting extensive, complex sales opportunities
  • Strong ability and desire to prospect and nurture relationships with account decision-makers
  • History of success working within an individual and team environment
