Server

Passerine NYC is looking for a passionate, experienced, and personable Server to join our team. We are seeking hospitality professionals who take pride in providing exceptional service, have strong menu knowledge, and enjoy creating memorable experiences for every guest.

About the Role

As a Server at Passerine, you will be responsible for delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine hospitality from the moment guests arrive until the end of their dining experience. You will work closely with the kitchen, bar, hosts, and management team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, professional, and personalized service to every guest.
• Have detailed knowledge of the food, ingredients, daily specials, cocktails, wine, and beverage program.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations.
• Maintain awareness of allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and efficiently.
• Check on guests throughout the meal and anticipate their needs.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly set tables and service areas.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, hosts, and management.
• Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns professionally.
• Follow all service, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Assist with opening, closing, side work, and restaurant setup.
• Work as part of a team to maintain a smooth and positive service environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of serving experience preferred.
• Fine dining, upscale dining, or high-volume restaurant experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and hospitality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy services.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• NYC Food Handler certification preferred.
