Valid teaching certification in a middle school content area
Desired Qualifications: Valid teaching certification in a middle school content area ~Experience working with students in grades 68~Strong understanding of grade-level standards ~Ability to use assessment data to identify skill gaps and provide targeted instruction ~Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs ~Knowledge of intervention strategies for struggling learners ~Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices ~Strong classroom management skills that foster a structured yet welcoming environment ~Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students ~Experience incorporating engaging, hands-on, or project-based learning strategies ~Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work as part of a team ~Commitment to maintaining high expectations while supporting student confidence and growth ~Ability to create a classroom climate that promotes student voice, belonging, and school connection Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, flexible, student-centered educators who understand that summer learning is not only about academic recovery, but also about rebuilding confidence, strengthening engagement, and helping students feel connected and valued within our school community. Position Summary/Responsibilities: The Summer School Teacher will provide targeted instruction to students in grades 68 with the goal of strengthening foundational and grade-level skills in English Language Arts and Mathematics. In addition to academic support, the teacher will foster meaningful relationships and create a positive classroom environment that helps students feel connected, confident, and engaged in school. This position requires an educator who is student-centered, collaborative, and committed to both academic growth and social-emotional development.
