Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567
Duration: 18 Weeks
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a clinic/outpatient setting. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in performing clinical procedures while managing front office responsibilities efficiently.
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
Room patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight)
Document medical history and update patient records in EMR/EHR systems
Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
Administer injections and vaccines (as permitted by certification)
Perform EKGs and phlebotomy (if trained/certified)
Prepare and sanitize exam rooms
Collect and process laboratory specimens
Administrative Duties
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations
Manage patient intake forms and documentation
Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
Ensure HIPAA compliance
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA preferred)
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
Experience using EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
Knowledge of basic clinical procedures
