Network Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Global Enterprise) in Brighton, MA (hybrid - 4 days on-site). The Opportunity: We are looking for a deeply technical Network Engineer to help operate and evolve a large-scale, global enterprise network. This role is built for someone who loves being hands-on - designing, building, troubleshooting, and automating real-world network infrastructure that spans offices, data centers, and cloud environments worldwide. This is not a people-management or purely architectural role. You will act as a technical lead by example, staying close to the technology and solving complex problems alongside other experienced engineers. What You'll Work On:

• Design, implement, and operate global network infrastructure across corporate offices, data centers, and cloud platforms
• Own routing and switching in complex environments, including BGP, OSPF, and L2/L3 networking
• Build and support Cisco-based networks, with a strong emphasis on Nexus platforms
• Engineer hybrid and cloud networking solutions, primarily in AWS (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), with exposure to Azure
• Drive automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and related tooling
• Implement and maintain network security controls including firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, and IDS/IPS
• Partner with security teams to translate policy into secure, auditable network designs
• Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, and resiliency across regions
• Provide Tier III support and serve as an escalation point for complex network issues
• Work with global carriers and vendors to support connectivity across North America, EMEA, and APAC
• Participate in an on-call rotation supporting mission-critical infrastructure
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering within global environments
• Deep hands-on expertise in routing, switching, and network troubleshooting
• Strong experience in Cisco networking, especially Nexus
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale networks across multiple regions
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, particularly AWS
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar automation/IaC tools
• Strong background in network security fundamentals
• Comfortable operating -in the weeds- while acting as a technical leader
• Clear communicator who collaborates well across infrastructure and security teams
