Group Lead Shipping

Position Description

Oversees the shipping and receiving of the assigned product lines and delegates the daily work assignments. May perform production work as needed.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversees the shipping of products, ensuring the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards.
2. Organizes space, equipment and personnel work assignments for successful execution of the production schedule, making adjustments as necessary.
3. Resolves routine department and personnel problem, while reporting non-routine problems to supervisor.
4. Receives deliveries, processes forms and keeps inventory records
5. Contacts and schedules carriers
6. Trains employees; assigns and directs work; provides feedback to supervisor regarding employee work performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to understand LEAN principles to perform job duties for continuous improvement
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

High School diploma

General Education Degree

Experience Requirements

• Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Moderate physical demand; often lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs), and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials (up to 70 lbs)

Generally good working conditions.

Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)

Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
