Job Title: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MedSurg RN)

Location: Upstate New York

Rate: $2,600 to $2,800 per week (Including stipend)

Role Summary:

NurseAmerica is seeking compassionate and skilled MedSurg RN from Hamilton, NY who will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses in Upstate New York for 13 weeks travel assignment. This role includes assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and patient/family education. The RN must collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, respond to emergent changes in patient condition, and ensure safe, evidence-based practices are followed.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, and discharge needs
• Develop individualized nursing care plans and update them as needed
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered, including IV therapy
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, labs, diagnostics, and patient response
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient status; escalate to appropriate providers
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Provide patient and family education for discharge planning, disease process, medications, and home care
• Document nursing care, assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health record (EHR) according to facility policy
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, nutrition, and other team members
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient rights standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and continuing education as required

What We Need from You:

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or required depending on facility
• Other certifications such as TNCC, PALS, or specialty certifications a plus
