Student-Centered Opportunity at the Student Health Center

In this role, you'll:
- Provide support and services tailored to the college student experience.
- Engage with students to understand and address their health and wellness needs.
- Participate in impactful campus-wide initiatives that promote student well-being.
Experience with social media is a plus as we continue to enhance communication and engagement with the student body.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Patient intake, such as greet and check-in patients/verify/update patient demographics
- Assist patients with filling out consent forms
- Receive and process cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered
- Initiate calls, pages and triage phone calls.
- Assists in admissions, discharges, transfers and fulfills other customer service or clerical duties
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional manner and appearance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Good time management and prioritization skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- College-level training/education in a healthcare support field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience or skills will be considered
- Previous EMR use/training helpful
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of medical terms and practices preferred
Physical Requirements:
- 5% standing 95% sitting
Location and Travel Requirements:
- Onsite
- Hammond Health Center, Ithaca College - 953 Danby Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850
- Monday - Thursday - during the semesters: shift coverage until 7pm on rotational basis. Saturdays 10-2 during the semesters on a rotational basis
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $18.50 to $23.00 per hour
- Shift Differential: Earn an additional $1.25 per hour for qualifying shifts, adding extra value to your contributions during designated times.
