The Opportunity
You'll provide physical therapy services across three nearby client locations in the Southern Finger Lakes region, working with both outpatient and inpatient populations. This full-time, day-shift float position allows you to deliver patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings while collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team. Your work will directly impact patient recovery and functional independence across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatric patients.

Your Day-to-Day
You'll interview and evaluate patients to develop individualized corrective exercise and treatment programs. You'll deliver physical therapy interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait training, soft tissue mobility, manual therapy, and therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and traction. You'll instruct patients on proper use of assistive devices including wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances.
Your role includes preparing comprehensive documentation such as evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries. You'll communicate regularly with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care plans and recommend program modifications based on patient progress. You'll provide guidance to support staff assisting with patient care and participate in department quality initiatives, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
You'll maintain department equipment and supplies, attend required meetings and committees, and assist with patient transport as needed. You'll provide age-appropriate care across all patient populations and enhance your professional development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed to practice physical therapy in New York State (or eligible to obtain licensure at time of hire)
- Hospital setting experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds independently and 150 pounds with assistance
- Commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and open communication
