Soaked Bar is hiring Bakers to be part of our Founding Team in NYC.

We are looking for detail-oriented bakers who care about creativity, consistency, cleanliness, and high-quality baking. This open call is for experienced bakers who can support daily production, as well as more advanced bakers who may be able to work closely with the founder on testing and developing new menu flavors.

Soaked Bar is a dessert brand founded by Will and Michael, built around reimagining the classic tres leches cake with bold, rotating flavors and scratch-made components. As we grow into our next chapter, we’re looking for team members who take pride in their work and want to help build something from the ground up.

As a Baker at Soaked Bar, you’ll support daily production for our signature tres leches cake station. This may include baking, soaking, preparing creams, fillings, jams, toppings, decorating, packaging, and helping maintain the quality and consistency our customers expect. For candidates with stronger baking or pastry experience, this role may also include collaborating with the founder on new flavors, seasonal menu items, recipe testing, and improving production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Production

Bake cakes according to Soaked Bar recipes and standards.
Prepare creams, toppings, fillings, jams, sauces, and other cake components.
Assist with soaking, assembling, decorating, and packaging cakes.
Follow exact measurements, methods, and prep procedures to maintain consistency.
Help execute signature flavors, seasonal flavors, and special menu items.
Support recipe testing and new menu development when applicable.

Organization & Station Readiness

Set up the cake station before production and service.
Keep ingredients, tools, packaging, and supplies organized and stocked.
Label, date, rotate, and store products properly.
Communicate low inventory or supply needs to leadership.
Maintain a clean and efficient workspace throughout the shift.

Quality & Food Safety

Check product quality, freshness, portioning, and presentation.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
Help reduce waste through proper prep, storage, and rotation.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Team Support

Work closely with the founders and team members during production and service.
Support order fulfillment and packaging when needed.
Help with general kitchen tasks as the business requires.
Bring a positive, team-first attitude to each shift.
Be open to feedback, training, and growing with the brand.

Qualifications

1+ year of bakery, pastry, prep, or production kitchen experience preferred.
Professional baking or pastry experience is a plus for candidates interested in recipe testing and menu development.
Comfortable following recipes and working with exact measurements.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Clean, organized, and able to work with urgency.
Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow with the team.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for bakers who take pride in their work, move with purpose, and understand that small details matter. Some candidates may be focused mainly on daily production, while others may bring stronger pastry experience and help with new menu development. In both cases, the right person should be dependable, clean, consistent, and excited to be part of a growing dessert brand.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

Additional Information

This role may evolve as Soaked Bar grows. Team members may be asked to support other areas of the business when needed.
