Senior Account Executive

Growth | Hybrid - NYC or Washington, D.C. | Full Time

About the Role

We are looking for Senior Account Executives to help a wide range of organizations unlock the Abstract advantage. One day you might be talking to one of the biggest companies in the world, and one day you might be talking to one of the biggest law firms in the world. Many of these customers are experts in their field, and they will look to you as a partner who understands their risks and opportunities.
This is a full-cycle, quota carrying, consultative role where you will source, build, iterate, and manage your own sales motion.

About Abstract

Abstract is a policy intelligence platform; A SaaS solution deployed to Fortune 500 corporations and AmLaw 200 law firms. Abstract learns about an organization, both entirely on its own, and any private context it learns. It then proactively does the work of Government Affairs: discovers what matters, explains the impact, recommends strategy, and tracks execution. Abstract is a huge advantage teams can get to move from reactive monitoring to proactive influence.

What You Will Crush
  • Lead the Full Lifecycle: Take full ownership of the sales funnel, ensuring a seamless transition from first contact to a fully onboarded partner.
  • Market Expansion: Drive revenue across the full market. Start with low five-figure initial landings and graduate to complex, six-figure and seven-figure expansion deals and enterprise contracts.
  • Own Your Top-of-Funnel Growth: Be your own BDR and craft a sophisticated pipeline strategy that targets high-value opportunities through a variety of channels.
  • Consultative Problem Solving: Conduct deep dive sessions with key stakeholders to uncover the underlying challenges in their financial and operational health. Connect their unique needs to our product's core value.
  • Master Momentum: Balance a high velocity deal flow while maintaining a strategic, big picture focus on long term goals.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Your frontline experience helps you align with Product and engineering teams to dismantle barriers and win in new market segments. Seamlessly handoff clients to the Client Partnership team.
  • You'll report directly to Matthew Chang, our Co-Founder & COO.
Who You Are
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional sales experience, specifically selling SaaS.
  • Proven Track Record: You've consistently exceeded quotas while working with limited resources in a high-growth environment.
  • AI Fluency: Comfortable using and selling AI-driven products; you understand how model-driven features solve real-world data problems for enterprise users.
  • Low Ego, High Ownership: You bring strong ideas to the table and defend them well, but you move toward the right answer for the user and the company, not for your pride.
  • Communication: Proactive communicator who values clear decisions and cross-functional context.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in or experience selling to complex or regulated markets (legal, compliance, govtech, or fintech).
  • Experience in or experience selling directly to legal personas (Legal Ops, GC, Compliance).
  • Experience in or experience selling to policy personas (Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs).
  • Previous experience as an early sales hire at a startup.
Compensation
  • Annual OTE (On Target Earnings): $200,000 to $400,000
  • Equity: Favorable equity
  • Base Salary: $100,000
  • Commission: Enjoy a transparent, uncapped compensation model where your commission rate scales significantly as you exceed your quarterly goals, providing a direct path to outsized earnings. Quarterly base quota.️‍️‍
