Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Tertiary Care Hospital, Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Start Date: October 7, 2025
• Assignment End Date: January 6, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
• Shifts: 4x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:00, Night: 19:00–07:00), every other weekend
• Total Hours/Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020 - $2080
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, 1:5.5 weekends
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR proficiency required)
• Scrub Colors: Navy and white combinations

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (within the past 6 months)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7
• Willingness to float to similar nursing units as needed
• Applicants must live more than 75 miles from Rochester, NY (travel nurse eligibility)
• No first-time U.S. assignments (prior U.S. RN experience required)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias
• Respond to rapid response calls and adhere to isolation precautions
• Administer oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks)
• Perform peripheral IV line care and non-invasive airway management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services)
• Float to other hospital units as required
• Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic EMR
