Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Utica, NY 13502 (Central New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 17, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250 - $2310
• Unit Size: 64 beds (including 15 Neuro beds)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU/PCU or Cardiac Stepdown RN experience, including travel nursing
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York (NURSYS verification required)
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Completed skills checklist for IMCU/Cardiac Stepdown specialty
• Two recent IMCU Charge/Manager RN references
• Valid driver’s license with address matching application demographics
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Experience providing adult patient care (18+ years)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses (COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, post-op)
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment: temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo, and chronic ventilators (with RT support)
• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float to other units as required to support overall patient care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
