Assistant Kitchen Manager

Devoe Street Bakeshop is a high-volume production bakery that is currently seeking an enthusiastic and talented Assistant Bakery Manager to join our wonderful team in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Our team bakes from scratch every day in an American tradition, providing deliciously rustic muffins, scones, cookies, bars, and loaves to our ten locations and numerous wholesale clients in New York City. Our seasonal menu includes everything from classic pastries to gluten free and vegan baked goods, and is growing rapidly.

We’re looking for an individual who is excited to learn and grow with us!

Our ideal candidate must take great pride in their work, be self-motivated, highly organized, display good time management skills, and be team-oriented.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Running a staff of six or more individuals

-Demonstrates leadership capabilities, excellent decision-making, and a passion for setting high-quality standards

-Can work well under pressure and maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift

-Ability to multitask and schedule production over multiple days

-Ensures completion of daily food preparation, efficiency and timeliness in production

-Outstanding communication and supervisory skills: able to communicate and report information clearly

-Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and can quickly create solutions for issues that arise

-Able to execute recipes accurately and mentor the team in doing the same

-Excels in kitchen maintenance and meticulous cleaning

Requirements:
-A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen managerial role
-Full-time open availability, including weekends and holidays
-Willingness to take direction and accept constructive criticism
-A NYC Food Handlers Certificate

-A degree in Baking and Pastry Arts
-Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time
-Fluent in English
