Daycare Front Desk Job

Happy Maryann Day School is looking for an administrative assistant to join our team in our Bayside office located at 132-18 41st Ave, Flushing, NY 11355. This person will work to support the daily operations of the office.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring that the daycare runs smoothly and that parents and children feel welcomed and supported. 2. Greeting and checking in parents and children as they arrive at the daycare. 3. Answering phone calls and responding to emails or messages from parents and potential clients. 4. Handling administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records. 5. Assisting with billing and payment processing. 6. Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and lobby. 7. Assisting with scheduling appointments and managing the daycare's calendar. 8. Communicating with daycare staff to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues. 9. Providing basic information about the daycare's policies, services, and programs to parents and visitors. 10. Monitoring the daycare's security and ensuring that all visitors follow the facility's safety procedures. 11. Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as helping with classroom transitions, preparing materials for activities, and supervising children in the lobby area.

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• 1-2 years experience as an administrative assistant, secretary or receptionist preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive, high-energy attitude
• Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skill set
• Familiarity with office equipment (i.e. printers, fax machines, projectors)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially MS Excel and PowerPoint)
