Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Acute Care Hospital Laboratory

Location: Bronx, New York

Contract Duration: 14 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire)

Shift Schedule

  • Day Shift
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 35 Hours per Week

Position Overview

A leading acute care hospital laboratory in the Bronx area is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a laboratory professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic testing to support exceptional patient care.

The selected candidate will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, maintain quality standards, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure reliable test reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced clinical laboratory testing on patient specimens
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
  • Ensure accuracy of test results through established quality control procedures
  • Analyze and report laboratory findings promptly and accurately
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
  • Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records within system platforms
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals regarding laboratory data
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous performance improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience required
  • Associate Degree from an accredited Laboratory Technology program required
  • Active New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
  • Primary Source Verification required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • BLS Certification preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume hospital laboratory environment

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow efficiently
