Software Engineer (Data Systems)
The Role Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking a Software Engineer (Data Systems) to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. This employee will specialize in the evaluation and optimization of our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system and related business practices. The key responsibilities of this Software Engineer (Data Systems) include, but are not limited to: Analyze, evaluate, and document current MRP system processes and data flows. Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement within the MRP and broader business practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Production, IT, Finance) to gather requirements and understand business needs. Develop and propose data-driven solutions and enhancements to improve system performance, data quality, and user experience. Design and implement tools, dashboards, and automated reports to support decision-making. Test and validate new processes or system modifications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Prepare clear technical documentation and user guidelines. Train team members on new features, processes, or best practices related to the MRP system. Location Sidney, NY 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY Salary: $61,500 - $110,000 The Person The key skills and qualities of a at Amphenol Military High Speed: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field. Understanding of MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing workflows. Proficiency in SQL, database systems, and data visualization tools. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations. Familiarity with manufacturing or supply chain environments. Proficiency in developing automation tools and scripts using languages such as Python or PowerShell.
