A senior-level attorney who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to push matters through efficiently will be successful in this role. The candidate must be highly experienced in all facets of commercial litigation and a dogged advocate for clients, with the ability not only to resolve cases but to see them through to trial when necessary. Strong writing skills are a must, as is detailed knowledge of CPLR; experience in bankruptcy, debtor/creditor, and workout practice is a plus. The candidate must be admitted and able to practice in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will be independent and able to oversee and manage a varied caseload confidently and independently. Responsibilities will include preparing pleadings, discovery, and motion practice, conducting depositions, and court appearances.

The ideal candidate will independently manage a diverse caseload, draft motions and pleadings, resolve and settle legal disputes on behalf of clients, and advocate zealously for clients in both state and federal courts and at trial when necessary. This individual must be a strong writer who is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to push matters through to resolution efficiently while building strong client relationships and managing their caseload with confidence and independence.

Annual base salary is $230,000 to $250,000 (Goetz Platzer is not a lock-step firm and the exact amount of salary for this position is determined by experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors). In addition to base salary, the firm offers an annual discretionary bonus, paid time off (including vacation, sick leave, and personal days in accordance with firm policy), medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan (employee-only contribution plan), and a pre-tax transportation benefits.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience across all facets of commercial litigation, with strong knowledge of New York practice and the CPLR
• Proven ability to resolve cases efficiently and to see them through to trial when necessary
• Experience in bankruptcy, debtor/creditor, and workout practice a plus
• A dogged, zealous advocate for clients, with strong negotiation and settlement skills
• Admitted and able to practice in both state and federal courts
• Strong writing skills are a must, along with excellent verbal communication
• Skilled in preparing pleadings, discovery, and motion practice, conducting depositions, and court appearances
• Independent and able to oversee and manage a varied caseload confidently, while pushing matters through to completion
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the New York State Bar
