Job Title: Registered Nurse – Wound Care (Travel Contract)
Location: New York, New York
Contract Duration: 14 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire)
Schedule:
- 4x10-Hour Shifts
- 38 Hours per Week
- Every Other Weekend Required
- Day/Shift timing: ~9.5-hour clinical shifts
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in a high-acuity acute care hospital in New York City. This role focuses on specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care for patients with complex and chronic wound conditions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Med/Surg experience along with wound care certification and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence assessments
- Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans
- Manage care for pressure injuries, ostomies, fistulas, and complex wounds
- Monitor patient response and adjust care plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Provide patient and family education on wound prevention and management
- Participate in staff training, in-services, and education programs
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and wound care audits
- Evaluate wound care supplies, equipment, and specialty treatment devices
- Monitor and manage negative pressure wound therapy and specialty beds
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Experience in wound care and colostomy management required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required
- Active New York State RN License required
- AHA BLS Certification required
- One of the following wound care certifications required:
- CWOCN / CWON / CWCN / CWS / WCC
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills required
- Ability to work independently in acute care settings
