What’s the role?

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Integration Testing team within our Machine Learning Enablement initiative. This team builds and maintains the platforms that enable teams to confidently make changes to our online ML systems before deploying them in production.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Product Lead, ML Applications. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?

The ML Enablement initiative at Etsy focuses on building and maintaining ML systems that enable product teams to confidently and quickly iterate on and create new models. As the PM, you will create the roadmap and strategy to ensure that ML teams across Etsy are able to quickly diagnose and understand model performance ahead of deploying to production. You will work closely with the team’s EM and Technical Lead while solving these problems.

What does the day-to-day look like?

Lead all aspects of product management for one of the highest priority areas for 2025:

• Product strategy: Define strategy for ML evaluation using insights from our ML product teams, competitive analysis and advancements in ML to prioritize most impactful investments. Drive semi-annual roadmap planning for your squad translating it to quarterly objectives and key results.

• Product delivery: Drive operational excellence through biweekly sprint execution collaborating with engineers to iterate on our ML evaluation tools; work closely with product teams to validate and measure success.

• Cross-team collaboration: Partner with ML squads across Etsy to enable them to confidently deploy changes to our recommendation systems. Align dependencies to achieve shared goals across all our partner teams.

• Product leadership and quality craft: Stay informed of groundbreaking ML techniques and opportunities to use tooling that enables teams to iterate more quickly.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role:

• Proven track record (3+ years) of building and optimizing ML services or platforms. Familiarity with ranking algorithms, retrieval systems and sophisticated personalization techniques is a plus.

• Technical problem solving experience and proficiency, including a basic understanding of data science and statistics.

• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate to a broad, cross-functional audience, including conveying complex and technical concepts in a simple and easily understandable manner.

• Data-driven decision making: A track record of using data (qualitative and quantitative) to make tradeoffs and drive priorities to achieve business outcomes.

• Strong bias for action and impact: A proactive demeanor with a passion for creative problem solving. Comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining focus on delivering results.
