About the role

As the Lead Product Manager for Claude Code, you will own the product strategy and vision for one of the most groundbreaking and transformative AI applications on the market.

In just a few months since launch, Claude Code has already redefined how developers interact with AI. Yet we are only scratching the surface. As model intelligence accelerates, the ultimate form factor of agentic software development remains unwritten. We seek a creative and seasoned product leader who combines deep technical understanding, genuine love for developers, and strong product and model intuition. You should be equally comfortable discussing customer feedback with world-class researchers, debugging user workflows with engineers, and presenting product strategy to executives.

We're looking for experienced founders and product management leaders who can bridge research and ambitious product experimentation with the ability to identify and ultimately define entirely new product categories enabled by AI. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of engineering as we fundamentally change how software gets developed.

Responsibilities:

• Define the roadmap that balances immediate developer needs with exponential model intelligence growth and long-term ambitions


• Translate cutting-edge AI advances into practical developer features


• Own pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy


• Represent Claude Code publicly through content and conferences

You might be a good fit if you:

• Have 10+ years in product management, with experience launching new products and scaling existing technical products. Founder background is a plus.


• Possess a deep technical background with experience working cross-functionally with engineering teams to ship technical products. A data-driven mindset with Python and SQL working proficiency is a must.


• Have a track record of launching ambitious products that have achieved distribution or commercial success


• Think creatively about the risks and benefits of new technologies, and think beyond past checklists and playbooks


• Stay up-to-date and hands-on with emerging research and industry trends


• Have a creative, hacker spirit and love solving puzzles

The expected salary range for this position is:

Annual Salary:

$305,000 - $460,000 USD

Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
