Senior software engineer

Moody's Analytics, Inc. - Senior Software Engineer (New York, NY 10007 (Principal place of business - telecommuting permitted)Build new features executing on product roadmap. Maintain existing code by fixing defects and executing on technical debt items. Work with our team under agreed upon deadlines to design, build, and deliver applications. Foster a culture that promotes clean, well-organized, testable, and reusable code. Participate in investigation and fixing of production support incidents related to technical, scalability, performance and environment issues. Build high-performance, scalable, and robust server-side applications and integrate with the Moody's backbone applications. Compose comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain the enterprise grade code quality and standards. Participate in requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployments, and maintenance. Analyze and address security vulnerabilities identified by security scanning tools. Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices. Telecommuting Permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.).Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with following: architecting, designing, developing, and implementing monitoring solutions to support software applications; applying knowledge of Node.js, Asynchronous Programming, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for applications development; working with SQL, Unix, Shell, GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence and Jenkins; working with open source code and frameworks; and using build tools, including GIT, MongoDB, Docker, Redis, Amazon Web Services.
