About the Role
The Testing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product testing to ensure apparel meets internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role manages testing protocols, lab relationships, and compliance documentation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to maintain product integrity throughout the development cycle.
How You’ll Contribute
· Maintain comprehensive testing protocols for apparel products, including physical, chemical, and performance testing.
· Manage third‑party laboratory relationships to ensure timely and accurate testing results.
· Review test reports and provide disposition for failures, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Maintain accurate records of test results, certifications (e.g., GRS/RCS), and compliance documentation.
· Ensure all products comply with applicable global regulations (e.g., CPSIA, REACH, Prop 65).
· Perform regulatory and safety reviews for children’s products each season, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
· Stay current with industry standards (AATCC, ASTM, ISO) and integrate updates into testing procedures.
· Partner with Design, Technical Design, Production, and Sourcing to align testing timelines with development and bulk shipment schedules.
· Support vendor onboarding and training on testing requirements, standards, and compliance expectations.
What You Bring to the Team
· 5+ years of experience in apparel product testing, quality assurance, or compliance within a multi‑brand/retail environment.
· Working knowledge of CPSIA, REACH, California Prop 65, and global chemical management programs.
· Hands‑on familiarity with AATCC/ASTM/ISO test methods and interpreting lab reports; experience resolving test failures via CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
· Experience managing third‑party labs and vendor training; ability to build scalable processes and SOPs.
· Knowledge of sustainability and certification programs (e.g., GRS, RCS) and documentation workflows.
· Experience supporting children’s product compliance (tracking labels, small parts, flammability, drawcords).
· Strong project management, organization, and communication skills; comfortable with fast‑paced, high‑SKU environments.
· Proficiency with PLM/quality systems and Excel; detail‑oriented with a data‑driven mindset.
