Team Member

BX Eatery is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Team Member to join our team in the South Bronx, NY. This role supports both our coffee program and bar service, creating a welcoming guest experience from morning coffee through evening service.

Position Overview

The Team Member prepares high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, juices, teas, cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is warm, team-oriented, calm under pressure, and takes pride in creating excellent guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
• Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, teas, juices, smoothies, and other non-alcoholic beverages
• Prepare alcoholic beverages according to BX Eatery recipes and service standards
• Maintain consistency in drink quality, presentation, and portioning
• Take guest orders accurately and communicate clearly with the kitchen and service team
• Handle POS transactions as needed
• Keep the coffee/bar station clean, stocked, organized, and guest-ready
• Restock cups, lids, syrups, milks, garnishes, liquor, beer, wine, and supplies.
• Monitor inventory needs and communicates low-stock items to management
• Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and sanitation standards
• Check IDs and follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
• Support teammates during busy periods (running drinks, bussing, helping the floor)
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude with guests, staff, and management
• Report guest issues, incidents, equipment problems, or supply concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Prior barista, bartender, café, or restaurant experience preferred
• Comfortable working with both coffee and alcoholic beverages
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Willingness to learn recipes, procedures, and service standards
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed
• Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol in New York
• Food handler or alcohol service certification is a plus
