Description

The MakerSpace and General Engineering Open Laboratory at Tandon School of Engineering at NYU seeks two or more adjunct faculty to work evening and weekend shifts at its makerspace facilities located at 6 Metrotech and 325 Gold Street, with a start date of October 15, 2025 . These shifts include Monday through Friday 5:30 - 10:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty are needed to monitor the General Engineering Open Laboratory and MakerSpace managed spaces. Duties include:

• Supporting student use of equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and space usage policies.
• Assisting in the maintenance and operation of the facilities and equipment.
• Reporting issues to the MakerSpace and General Engineering Managers and Directors.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in engineering, creative technology or a related discipline.
• Intermediate or higher level 3D printers, laser cutters and hand tools skills.
• 1-2 years of experience in STEM education environments.
• Experience working with a diverse population of students, particularly skill levels and interests.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the contact hour rate for this position is $72.24. This rate is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 7902.
