About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer — across Mid, Senior, and Staff levels — to join our rapidly growing engineering team at Fun.xyz in the New York City Metropolitan Area.

In this role, you will be responsible for building, scaling, and securing the infrastructure powering our web3 Checkout platform.You’ll work hand-in-hand with backend, frontend, and protocol teams to ensure system performance, resilience, and observability across a global, high-throughput financial network. From architecting CI/CD pipelines to enhancing on-chain deployment workflows, your work will directly impact how crypto users interact with decentralized systems in real time.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Build and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Design and integrate end-to-end testing pipelines to ensure system reliability across environments.
• Monitor, log, and troubleshoot system performance using Datadog or similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure the platform is developer-friendly, testable, and highly available.
• Automate manual processes to improve system scalability, security, and performance.
• Occasionally contribute to tooling or services using TypeScript/ Node.js when needed.
• Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and fault-tolerant architecture design
• Champion a DevOps culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Cloud, or Platform Engineering role.
• Strong experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS, Lambda).
• Proficient in IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Experience managing modern CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI).
• Hands-on experience with E2E testing automation and integration into deployment flows.
• Experience with Datadog or equivalent monitoring/logging platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or similar).Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to build and manage monitoring, alerting, and observability stacks
• Deep understanding of secure infrastructure design and best practices
• Excellent debugging, documentation, and cross-team communication skills
• A mindset for resilience, scalability, and zero-downtime deployments

Desired Qualities

• Prior experience with web3 infrastructure, such as running Ethereum nodes, IPFS, oracles, or validators
• Experience developing or maintaining tools/services in TypeScript/ Node.js .
• Experience working with payments systems or financial-grade architecture
• Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, nodes, and APIs (e.g., Web3, Ethereum, Solana).
• Exposure to event-driven or real-time streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka).
• Familiarity with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
• Hunger for working in fast-paced, high-growth environments where ownership is paramount

This role is primarily in-person at our headquarters in Midtown, New York, NY . We collaborate together in-office Monday through Thursday , with remote Fridays .
