About Our School District

Westfield Academy and Central School District serves a 49-square-mile area, housing kindergarten through twelfth grade on one convenient campus. Our secondary school provides a comprehensive four-year program for approximately 290 students and is:

• Certified by the New York State Department of Education

• Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Secondary Principal to lead our grades 6-12 program. This position offers the unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a close-knit educational community while enjoying the benefits of small-town living with access to excellent cultural and recreational resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership for grades 6-12 academic programs

• Foster a positive school climate that promotes student achievement and well-being

• Supervise and evaluate teaching staff

• Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement curriculum initiatives

• Manage disciplinary procedures and student support services

• Work closely with parents, community members, and district administration

• Oversee extracurricular activities and athletic programs

• Ensure compliance with state and federal educational regulations

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field

• Valid New York State School Building Leader certification (or ability to obtain)

• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with previous administrative experience preferred

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to student-centered education, Experience with data-driven decision making
