Business Litigation Associate
Job title: Business Litigation Associate (Buffalo, Albany, Rochester)
Location: Buffalo, NY
Salary:$140,000 - $160,000/year
What You Will Be Doing
- Handle end-to-end business/commercial litigation matters
- Draft:
- Pleadings
- Dispositive & non-dispositive motions
- Legal briefs
- Discovery materials
- Appear in court for:
- Hearings
- Conferences
- Motion arguments
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Manage discovery process (document review, strategy, compliance)
- Assist in:
- Trial preparation
- Arbitration proceedings
- Settlement negotiations
- Perform legal research and provide strategic case analysis
- Communicate directly with:
- Clients
- Opposing counsel
- Courts
- Supervise and mentor junior associates/support staff
- Participate in client meetings and business development efforts
Experience You Will Need
- 4–6 years of business/commercial litigation experience
- Proven experience handling complex disputes
- Strong exposure to:
- Court appearances (state and/or federal)
- Depositions
- Discovery management
- Ability to manage cases with increasing independence
- Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment
