Employer: Sumitomo Mitsui Banking CorporationJob Title: Associate (ref.# 6248)Job Location: 277 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10172 Duties: Assist in monitoring risks in the corporate banking portfolio, highlighting concerns, and making recommendations for mitigation, including syndication and / or identification of distressed assets. Support secondary market activity by highlighting opportunities that meet desired criteria for syndication and / or securitization. Prepare various new or on-going portfolio analysis and other credit-related reports as needed. Track capital requests and follow up on conditional approvals to ensure compliance. Aggregate information from multiple sources to run and automate the regular production process for profitability data for all corporate clients. Analyze this information to draw insights that will assist the front office with strategic decision making. Create presentations that provide management with portfolio summaries and deep dives into key clients. Highlight key profitability drivers that impact performance. Manage and update dashboards regarding client and departmental profitability metrics. Perform ad-hoc analysis on various portfolios or customers to facilitate strategic decision making. Prepare financial projection models including base case and development of stress case scenarios. Execute documentation and closing for credit transactions as needed, delivering ongoing monitoring and maintenance activities on an assigned portfolio of loans. Develop a thorough understanding of how data is produced to clearly communicate with downstream users. Work with business units to understand client relationships and incorporate feedback into our data. Coordinate with operations to very funding and eligibility criteria, update audit scopes and address and remediate actions with servicers for significant audit discrepancies. Serve as point person post-closing, interfacing with external partners such as auditors, banks and legal representatives. Support transaction restructuring and amendment as needed, advising the origination team, credit officers and colleagues within risk management. Hybrid remote work permitted.Requirements: Masters degree in Finance or a related field, plus 2 years of experience. Skill set: CapitalIQ, Bloomberg; experience with policies, procedures, compliance and bank regulatory matters; financial regulations (Basel III) and capital allocation models; experience with independently evaluating capital structures, leverage, cash flows, repayment capacity, industry trends, competitive landscape and customer issues as well as other risks and mitigants. The required skill set does not need to be maintained over the full term of the required experience and may be gained through employment or education. Salary range: $150,000/year to $200,000/year.
