Fabrication Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling metal cabinets in a manufacturing environment using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. You follow detailed assembly instructions, handle and count hardware components, and ensure finished products meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble metal cabinets according to detailed assembly instructions and production standards.
- Operate a band saw safely and accurately to cut materials to specified measurements.
- Operate a glass cutting machine to prepare glass components for cabinet assemblies.
- Use basic hand tools and a power drill to fasten, secure, and assemble cabinet components.
- Count and organize nuts, screws, bolts, and other hardware to ensure accurate inventory and proper assembly.
- Inspect assembled cabinets for quality, accuracy, and completeness before stacking or moving.
- Stack and stage finished cabinets in designated areas to support efficient workflow and shipping.
- Lift and move boxes, components, and finished products as needed to support production activities.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support productivity and safety.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors about production needs, issues, or improvements.
- Experience assembling metal cabinets or similar products in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency using basic hand tools such as wrenches and hand drills.
- Ability to operate a power drill safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a band saw and glass cutting machine following safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when following assembly instructions and counting hardware.
- Ability to count and organize nuts, screws, bolts, and other small components accurately.
- Capability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Preferred 2 years of experience in fabrication, assembly, or a related field.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with using various hand tools and power tools beyond those listed.
- Comfort working with metal, glass, and other industrial materials.
- Reliability and strong work ethic with a focus on quality and safety.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes as the company grows.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility with a first shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You work around industrial equipment such as band saws, glass cutting machines, and various hand and power tools. The role involves standing, lifting up to 75 lbs, and handling metal and glass components throughout the day. Steel toe boots are required as part of the dress code to ensure safety on the production floor. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and teamwork.

This is a Contract position based out of Farmingdale, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
