Job Description

Who we are:

For over 20 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world's most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It's a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

Our vision:

Global Relay is an innovative business, and this extends to our approach to developing highly engaging and informative video content for our prospects, customers, partners and employees. This content will support business development and align with our core marketing strategy, with the ultimate goal of building a consistent and engaging channel that showcases our products, expertise, and people to a broader audience than ever before. As a Videographer / Production Associate, your role is essential to this new investment in an area that is key to the success of the business and its strategy.

Your role:

Global Relay is in the process of creating two state-of-the-art broadcast facilities: one based in London, and the other in New York. Our studios offer fully equipped recording and editing facilities with high-end, professional broadcast quality equipment. You will be based in our New York office with the possibility of occasional travel to our other locations.

As a Videographer / Production Associate, you'll be part of a dedicated team of talented, creative and technical staff working closely with our digital marketing team, in addition to other departments across the business, to produce high quality recorded/live productions for both internal and external consumption. You'll have a high degree of autonomy, while adhering closely to brand guidelines, to deliver against the stated brief.

You may work on a variety of productions for both internal and external commercial consumption, including:

Global Relay use Blackmagic Design equipment including URSA broadcast cameras, production and post-production control panels, therefore experience with these systems or similar high-end industry-grade equipment is essential. Prior experience with Davinci Resolve will also be considered highly advantageous.

Your responsibilities:

Your work as a Videographer / Production Associate will involve:

  • Contributing to a brief, an outline of footage, shot list, script or storyboard
  • Developing a film's visual style

  • Determining camera aperture settings
  • Controlling natural or artificial lighting conditions
  • Determining elements such as filters, shutter angles, focus, depth of field and camera distance
  • Working in a control room environment to assist in technical direction of recorded and live events

About you:

You'll have proven experience in one or more of the following:

  • Communication and media studies
  • Fine art or visual art
  • Graphic design
  • Information technology/multimedia
  • Photography, film or television

You'll also have:

  • A keen eye for detail
  • Creativity and a passionate interest in film and video production
  • Patience and concentration
  • The ability to listen to others and work well as part of a team
  • High level of self-motivation, commitment and dedication
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Solid understanding of framing and composition for storytelling
  • Good technical camera operating skills
  • Experience in audio production and quality control is a plus
  • An existing portfolio or show-reel of material that you have personally worked on; be prepared to validate your input in terms of role and level of contribution
