Job Title: Software Architect

Place of Performance: Riverview Center, 150 Broadway, Floor 5, Menands, NY 12226

Position Overview:

Seeking an Expert-Level Software Architect to support a long-term modernization initiative aimed at replacing a 20-year-old legacy claims information system with a modern, service-oriented architecture-based application. The project requires high-level technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of .NET-based solutions, with a focus on system integration and shared services. This is a full-time, on-site role with no telecommuting allowed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for the modernization program, guiding a .NET Development Team.

• Lead design and code review sessions to ensure high-quality deliverables and compliance with best practices.

• Architect and implement reusable shared services across modules and agencies.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and systems teams to create technical environments supporting implementation.

• Coordinate integrated testing, enforce development standards, and support production deployment.

• Generate system documentation, technical specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.

• Participate in and sometimes lead weekly design and development meetings.

• Ensure compliance with agency-mandated training and documentation protocols.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in C# development using Visual Studio.

• 5+ years of experience leading a development team of five or more.

• 5+ years of experience creating and editing technical system documentation and specifications.

• 5+ years of experience working with IIS Web Server.

• 3+ years of experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS).

• 5+ years of experience in the design and deployment of complex SQL objects and relational database structures.

• 4+ years of experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) development.

• 3+ years of experience writing and executing unit tests.

• 2+ years of experience developing user interfaces using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern.

Additional Details:

• Interview Format: Webcasting; on-camera presence is required.

• Work Hours: Negotiable start between 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM, ending between 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM.

• Telecommuting: Not permitted.

• Travel: No travel anticipated.

• Training: Must attend all New York State and agency-required training.

• Security: NDA required before engagement start.

• Knowledge Transfer: Ongoing throughout the project; includes design meetings and collaboratively developed documentation.
