Posting Summary:

The Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (MD-ICCCR) at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking a temporary part-time (29h/week) professional, with an appointment through 9/1/2027 and the possibility of renewal, to coordinate its educational programs and support core operations.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position will manage all course offerings, including core and elective courses, for-credit and non-credit certificates, internships, and executive education programs. The Education and Operations Coordinator will assume a coordination role, in partnership with the Curriculum Development Specialist, for ongoing curriculum reviews and revisions, to offer cutting-edge, scientifically based course content and current pedagogy. The role will also support and help grow the Center’s new executive education program, the Conflict Intelligence Lab. The educational offerings are focused on the dynamics of peace, conflict, social change, and social justice.


In addition, the role will support Center operations, including internal and external communications, website and social media management, event coordination, space management and facilities requests, and support students, faculty, partners, and prospective students.



CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





Manage course offerings, including core and elective courses, for-credit and non-credit certificates, internship, and executive education programs.

  • Schedule courses
  • Ensure that course materials are available to faculty and students (e.g., course manuals, course boxes, assessments, Canvas websites, inventories, course reserves)
  • Manage new course approvals
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of new and existing courses, including the management and review of course evaluation materials.
  • Assume implementation role in ongoing MD-ICCCR curriculum review and revision.
  • Oversee the internship program each semester, including meeting with students to match them to opportunities that align with their interests, liaising with the placement supervisor, coordinating with the internship instructor and advocating for students when needed.

Oversee MD-ICCCR Adjunct Instructors and serve as the main point of contact for students, prospective students, and TC offices regarding MD-ICCCR courses.

  • Allocate Instructors and Teaching Assistants and offer course support
  • Coordinate semiannual Instructor meetings
  • Provide ongoing student support and counseling, and advocate for students enrolled in MD-ICCCR courses, certificates and executive education programs, throughout the full course cycle (from registration to the receipt of grades, credits and/or certificates)
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to MD-ICCCR offerings
  • Function as central liaison between the MD-ICCCR and the Social-Organizational Psychology program
  • Coordinate with relevant Teachers College offices, such as the Admission’s Office, Registrar’s Office, Office of Facilities

Management and TC Academy to implement and manage courses

  • Function as MD-ICCCR liaison to Executive Education programming with TC Academy
  • Collaborate with Center directors, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars
  • Manage the Work Study student, providing guidance and support
  • Track appropriate aspects of the course registration-based portion of the MD-ICCCR budget and advise Budget Administrator accordingly



Support MD-ICCCR’s operations and communicate MD-ICCCR’s Pedagogical Brand

  • Keep course and other descriptive educational information up to date in traditional and social media (e.g., MD-ICCCR website, course flyers)
  • Create mechanisms to raise the value and awareness of the Center’s educational offerings through programming, events, publicity, etc.
  • Coordinate events, including communication with speakers, room reservations, and media, catering, and facilities requests
  • Support MD-ICCCR office space management, including office inventory, Facilities and IT requests, and coordination of SOP doctoral student allocation in study space

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: B.A.
  • Experience: Three years of organizational experience, managing programs, projects, and/or curricula
  • Skills: interpersonal communication, written communication, organization, program and project management, resource management, capacity to work as a member of a team
  • Strong technology skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software, platforms, and digital tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canvas - Instructure, Canva, Asana, Terminalfour, Banner, Squarespace, 25Live, CaterTrax, etc.)
  • Availability to remain in the role through the end of the appointment on September 1, 2027

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in social psychology, adult education, sociology, anthropology, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of the field of conflict resolution
  • Graduate degree in fields noted above
  • Experience working in schools or nonprofit organizations
  • Skills: Curriculum development and management, mediation, conflict coaching

Salary Range:

$30/hour

Work Modality:
