This bi-level Japanese restaurant and cocktail lounge offers a dynamic balance: a vibrant upstairs bar with elevated cocktails and a hidden izakaya below serving sushi, robatayaki, and small plates. The New York City location has quickly become a standout destination for Japanese inspired cuisine and nightlife, blending modern energy with elevated hospitality. 1. Assists Bartenders by providing necessary support to ensure prompt and friendly service.
2. Responsible for keeping the bar well-stocked with garnishes, ice, liquor, wine and beer. Changes out kegs, if needed.
3. Assists with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
4. Responsible for overall bar cleanliness.
5. Works as a team with other Barbacks, Bartenders, Servers and support staff to ensure Schulson Collective steps of service are met at all times.
6. Creates memorable experience to build repeat business. Inform guests of other Schulson Collective restaurants.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push and/or pull up to 75 pounds. The employee will spend over 4 hours daily standing or walking.

Required Education and Experience

1. Minimum one (1) to two (2) years prior industry experience.
2. Must have prior high volume experience.
3. Must have strong multitasking capabilities.
4. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
6. Familiarity with craft beer, wine, and cocktails is a plus.
