CVICU RN Job Details – Tulsa, OK

• Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Location: On-site in Tulsa, Oklahoma (74104)
• Unit: CVICU (Coronary Care Unit B)
• Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (06:45 - 19:15)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/24/2025 – End: 12/24/2025)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1750-$1800
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 24 beds, average daily census ~20
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, Burn ICU as needed

CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care nursing experience
• Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license (required at time of application)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in arterial line management, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central/PICC line management, sedation, cardiac/vasoactive drips, and acute stroke management
• Ability to float to similar ICU units (MSICU, Neuro ICU, Burn ICU) as needed
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to work every other weekend

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac surgical and medical patients in the CVICU
• Monitor and manage complex cardiac conditions, including multi-system organ failure and acute stroke
• Administer medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage continuous IV sedation
• Assist with procedures such as arterial line and chest tube insertion/removal, sheath removal, and blood product administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed, following orientation
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards
