St. Mary’s Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pulmonologist/Critical Care Physician to join our growing, hospital-based practice in Amsterdam, NY. We proudly opened our state-of-the-art Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Center in 2024, enhancing our ability to provide comprehensive respiratory and sleep disorder care to our community. Position Highlights:

1. State-of-the-Art Facilities – Our brand-new center features an 8-bed ICU, sleep labs, and advanced diagnostic technology.
2. Minimal call schedule – 1:4 call rotation with nocturnist coverage in the ICU overnight.
3. Open ICU model – Covered by skilled hospitalists during the day for added support.
4. Advanced pulmonary procedures – Access to endobronchial ultrasound, bronchoscopy, and other state-of-the-art technologies.
5. Large referral base – Ability to grow outpatient practice on day one!

Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose and treat a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer.​
2. Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), utilizing evidence-based protocols and advanced monitoring techniques.​
3. Collaborate with our Sleep Medicine team to assess and manage sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders. ​
4. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and pulmonary function testing.​
5. Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and primary care providers, to develop individualized treatment plans.​
6. Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care strategies to promote optimal health outcomes.​
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Qualifications:

Required Credentials - Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York

Preferred Experience - Previous experience in pulmonary and critical care settings is preferred but not required.

Education - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution

Compensation & Benefits:

1. Base Salary Range - $361,078- $523,906 (commensurate with experience).
