Job Title: LVN / LPN – Correctional Nursing

Location: Stormville, NY

Assignment Type: Travel Contract

Duration: 26 Weeks

Schedule: 5x8 Evenings

Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide patient-centered care in a structured healthcare environment. This role involves delivering clinical nursing care under the supervision of an RN or physician, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care, including sterile procedures
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Monitor, record, and report patient health status and changes
• Perform clinical procedures such as catheterization and suctioning
• Assist with IV therapy (with appropriate training)
• Administer blood and blood products as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience post-licensure
• Diploma or certification in Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN)
• Active New York State LPN/LVN License (required)
• BLS Certification (required)

Additional Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Open to first-time travelers and local candidates
• Must provide Requested Time Off (RTO) at time of submission
• Returning candidates must have a 2-year gap from prior assignments within the same state system
