What is an OMS Data Coordinator?
The OMS Data Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating the distribution circuit geographic information system (GIS) data that is used by Central Hudson’s outage management system (OMS). Central Hudson’s physical distribution circuits are constantly being updated. The primary emphasis of this job offer is to keep the corresponding OMS circuit model data current, so that customer’s outage cases and communications are correct. This includes regular interaction with our engineering, drafting & GIS, accounting, and electric operations departments. The individual will also be responsible to assist with OMS system improvements, user training and troubleshooting efforts, and support general emergency response initiatives. The OMS Data Coordinator will report to the Director – Resiliency Systems.



What does an OMS Data Coordinator do?

»Perform data entry of new circuit and customer data from work orders, tickets, and other sources.

»Be responsible for circuit builds and data QA/QC in GE Smallworld (GIS)

»Support maintenance, troubleshooting and training efforts for existing applications used to support Dispatch Operations and Emergency Response.

»Contribute towards software enhancements and the development of new applications by defining business needs and performing software testing.

»As a member of the Emergency Management Division, accept one or more functions to support gas and/or electric emergency preparation and response.



What does it take to be an OMS Data Coordinator?

Required:

»High School or an Equivalency Diploma

»Must have proficient computer expertise

»Strong attention to detail

»Must have excellent verbal and written communication expertise

» capability to collaborate well with other people and interact with different departments

»Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

»Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science or a related field of study

» 1+ year date entry and/or GIS System practice

» practice in testing software applications
