Pediatric Physical Therapist - Outpatient Clinic | $15,000 Sign-On Bonus | Elmira, NY

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess pediatric patients' physical conditions, functional abilities, and therapeutic needs in an outpatient clinic setting
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans for children of all ages, from neonates to adolescents
• Administer age-appropriate therapeutic interventions including corrective exercises, gait training, soft tissue mobilization, and modalities
• Educate patients and families on proper use of adaptive equipment, including wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic devices
• Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with professional and departmental standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, physicians, and nursing staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Monitor patient progress and recommend treatment modifications based on clinical outcomes
• Provide supervision and guidance to support staff and therapy assistants
• Maintain department equipment, supplies, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control procedures
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and professional development activities
• Transport patients to and from the physical therapy department as needed
• Deliver patient-centered care that meets the physical and psychological needs of children and their families

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain licensure at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy principles, practices, and developmental milestones
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work effectively with children and families
• Ability to lift 30 pounds independently and 150 pounds with assistance
• Commitment to maintaining universal precautions and infection control standards
• Dedication to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a physical therapist in a hospital or outpatient pediatric setting
• Pediatric specialty certification or training
• Experience with adaptive equipment and assistive devices for children
