Compensation: $64,000.00-$72,000.00 annual salary
Description:
We are actively seeking candidates for the position of People & Culture Generalist II. This role is a key member of the Office of People & Culture and provides complex professional human resources support and program development and deployment in talent acquisition, onboarding, reporting, records retention, and configuration and continuous improvement related to the various technologies used within the department.

Highlight of Duties & Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
- Train new leaders in recruitment processes and ensure best practices for the College and enhance candidate experience.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to develop and deploy a recruitment plan on sourcing applicants, timeline for the search, and target date to fill the position.
- Closely manage the recruitment process for all open positions, ensuring that the recruitment plan is on target to fill the position timely.
Onboarding
- Issue appointment letters and job offer to candidates of choice.
- Initiate required background checks.
- Launch all onboarding related activities for new employees and follow-up to ensure that they are on track.
- Develop and deploy programs that positively enhances a new employees welcome to the College community.
- Manage Moter Vehicle Review (MVR) process for all Faculty/Staff/Student/Sodexo/Volunteer persons seeking approval to drive College fleet vehicles.
Offboarding
- Provide offboarding directions to employees and their supervisors.
- Track Exit Survey responses and escalate any legal or immediately pressing issues to the Chief People & Culture Officer.
Records Retention & Reporting
- Collaborate on the creation of a records retention practice for the People & Culture Office related records.
- Create a system for personnel records management and auditing to be followed within the People & Culture team.
- Utilize the HRIS and partner with internal stakeholders to complete required statutory and/or voluntary reporting surveys.
HR Technology Maintenance & Improvements
- Operate as resident expert on current HRIS and applicant tracking tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to engage in continuous improvement activities that strengthen current systems with the goal of sound legal process and easy to do business with.
- Research and lead working groups to address enhancements and changes to the People & Culture technologies used.
People & Culture General Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of College policies and be able to interpret them for employees with questions and refer employees to appropriate resources.
- Field employee concerns/complaints and suggest resources that can provide them support.
- Recommends resolution of employee issues to Chief People & Culture Officer and College leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned including project and committee work as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field; and minimum of two years of professional level experience relevant to human resources or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- General knowledge of Human resources principles and practices and applicable laws.
- Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive workplace.
- Demonstrated experience working with personnel information of a sensitive nature and adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Must be able to deal with difficult or challenging situations with a discreet, compassionate, and professional demeanor.
- Proven mathematical and data management skills.
- Strong computer and data entry skills include working with databases and learning new software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking tools
- Excellent communication skills including public speaking: over the phone, in person, and written communications.
- Superior organizational skills include managing multiple tasks at once and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and the public to professionally represent the principles of PSC.
- Ability to work swiftly, accurately, decisively, and competently with standard job-related duties.
- Ability to work occasional weekends or evenings to accommodate College events and deadlines.
- Reliable transportation as position is based on Paul Smith’s College campus with occasional community-based travel for events and seminars.
