Overnight Maintenance Mechanic
Are you a hands-on mechanical professional who excels in a fast-paced production environment? A premier Randstad client in Riverhead—a global leader in innovative packaging and engineered products—is seeking an Overnight Maintenance Mechanic to ensure their high-tech manufacturing facility remains at peak performance.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Knowledge: proficiency in mechanical systems; experience with plastics or packaging machinery is a plus.
- Electrical Skills: Ability to read schematics and use testing tools like voltmeters and amp probes.
- Shift Adaptability: Proven ability to work consistently on an 11 PM – 7 AM schedule.
- Physical Ability: Capable of climbing, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Tools: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment.

education: High School Responsibilities
- Mechanical Repair: Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, including molding machines, assembly machinery, and conveyors.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled PMs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life cycles.
- Systems Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues within hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems (switches, fuses, and motor controls).
- Fabrication: Perform basic welding (MIG/TIG), cutting, and brazing as needed for equipment repair or modification.
- Facility Support: Maintain general plant infrastructure, including air, water, and gas piping.
- Safety & Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA safety standards.
