Business Development Director
Position Overview
New York City Psychiatric Associates is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director to expand our referral network and establish our practice as the premier psychiatric care provider in the New York metropolitan area. This strategic role will focus on building and maintaining relationships with primary care providers, therapists, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations to generate consistent, high-quality referrals to our practice.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Development & Management
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain strategic relationships with primary care physicians, internists, therapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals throughout the New York metro area
- Develop partnerships with hospitals, community health centers, employee assistance programs, and healthcare organizations
- Conduct regular visits and presentations to referral sources to educate them about our services, specialties, and value proposition
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referral partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve referral growth targets
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and referral patterns to identify new opportunities
- Create and execute targeted outreach campaigns to underserved or high-potential market segments
- Establish metrics to track referral sources, conversion rates, and overall business development effectiveness
Practice Visibility & Marketing
- Represent New York City Psychiatric Associates at professional conferences, networking events, and community health forums
- Collaborate with Marketing Director to develop promotional materials, presentations, and educational content for referral sources
- Organize and facilitate continuing education events, lunch-and-learns, and informational sessions for healthcare providers
- Maintain active presence in professional organizations and local medical communities
Operational Excellence
- Maintain detailed records of all business development activities, contacts, and referral tracking in selected customer relationships management system
- Work closely with clinical leadership to ensure practice capacity aligns with business development efforts
- Coordinate with patient intake team to ensure smooth referral process and excellent customer service
- Provide regular reports to leadership on business development activities, outcomes, and ROI
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within healthcare sector
- Proven track record of building and maintaining professional referral networks
- Strong knowledge of the New York healthcare landscape and mental health service delivery
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout New York metro area
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in business administration, Public Health, or Healthcare Management
- Experience in mental health or psychiatric services sector
- Established network of contacts within New York medical community
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance requirements
- Experience presenting to medical professionals and conducting educational programs

Compensation & Benefits
We offer a base salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 plus performance-based incentives and expense budget based on candidate credentials.
