• Currently the only way to bet is with retail sportsbooks, which have egregious margins, discriminatory and inefficient practices, and a stale betting experience


• Novig is a sports prediction market that guarantees users the best lines by allowing them to play directly against friends or the market, rather than against the house, making the sports trading experience more efficient , fair , and, most importantly, profitable

What will you do?

You will work across the full stack to build the next generation of sports betting infrastructure. Drawing on technologies used in modern financial exchanges, you’ll help enforce transparent, efficient market practices while delivering a seamless user experience. Your work may span everything from real-time backend systems and trading APIs to the frontend components that power our core product. You’ll play a key role in shaping both the market engine and the interface through which users engage with it.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain a developer-first API experience for algorithmic trading and power users


• Expand product features by extending modular backend services and contributing to frontend components


• Scale up our real-time data ingestion, processing, and distribution pipelines


• Collaborate closely with design and product teams to build performant, intuitive user interfaces


• Contribute to architecture and system design decisions across the stack


• Improve observability and reliability across backend and frontend systems

What are we looking for?

We value candidates with expressed interest in sports, markets, and technology. You are someone who is passionate about the complexities of computer science who can contribute toward helping us build a robust, scalable sports trading marketplace.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field


• 3+ years of professional experience building full stack applications


• Proficiency in a system programming language (e.g., Rust, Go, C++) and at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Vue)


• Experience developing distributed systems with cloud-based architecture


• Strong product intuition and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions


• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills


• Comfortable working independently and within fast-moving, cross-functional teams

Who is Novig?

• At Novig, we have reimagined the sports betting landscape by building a sweepstakes-based sports prediction market. • Novig’s founders, Jacob and Kelechi, are recent Harvard grads with experience at Jane St & BoA who started Novig with the belief that a commission-free P2P exchange model will replace the exploitative and unprofitable betting model of traditional sportsbooks. They themselves were sophisticated sports bettors who grew increasingly frustrated by the latency, discriminatory practices, monotony, and non-profitability of the retail sports betting experience.
