DESCRIPTION:
The Assigned Counsel Program (ACP) is seeking a NYS barred attorney to serve as its Family Court Supervising Attorney.
The ideal candidate must have experience in supervising attorneys, be committed to indigent defense, and be proficient in
New York State Family Court practice, specifically, providing legal representation for parents and caretakers who are ac-
cused of neglect or abuse under Article 10 of the Family Court Act. As Supervising Attorney for the Albany County Assigned
Counsel Program you will be responsible for assigning Family Court cases to appropriately qualified attorneys, planning,
developing and coordinating a wide range of resources for participating attorneys and recruiting new attorneys for the panel.
This will include establishing training and mentorship programs for panel attorneys, coordinating access to non-attorney
professionals, representing the County locally and throughout NYS and working with the courts to develop a system for at-
torney assignments that conforms with NYSOILS standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Attorney with a New York State bar admission (or ability to waive into New York State from another jurisdiction), a total of
five (5) years of experience in the practice of family court law, and supervisory experience.
